it’s natural, baby

9 09 2009

After water is boiled, it returns to its natural temperature.

After the ocean storms, it returns to its natural calmness.

So too do Hues have a natural state – it is a gentle state of peace, bliss, strength, wisdom, and love. This calm, happy love is our “inner child.” Truth is, we’re all children. When we’re 5, we’re children; when we’re 25, we’re children, when we’re 85, we’re children. Dig: the reason ‘little children’ seem so pure and innocent is because society (WE) allow them to express their natural state of being, a curious, fun-loving, honest organism. This is all of our’s True Self.

Then comes a time when we train each other to “grow up” and we learn to express our True Self a little less and a little less, until we don’t even recognize each other. In our culture, “growing up” is transforming to a state different than our inner child, a state of serious, strict, rigid forcefulness, attributes that are not natural to us. We become “adults”, a made-up, illusory role that nobody feels comfortable playing because it opposes our natural state of loose-happy-go-lucky-fun-time. We’re more like seals than imaginary “adults”. We are all children.

Of course, we can learn to be responsible (able to respond) children (which children naturally are, for issues that matter to the child), but our society (WE) don’t teach responsibility. We teach morsels of selfishness. We’ve set up so many complex systems for ourselves. we’ve removed us from the picture! Now we have uniforms that fulfill tasks to take care of “us”. Shoot, what are we anyway? We’re not our uniforms, we’re not our systems, we’re not our roles and identities. We’re kids in a playground! The playground is Earth. When we accidentally knock some one over, we help ’em get back up. When we see the sad one slouching alone, we invite them to play. When we’re tired, we lay down under the sun, cloud-gazing. When we’re thirsty, we drink from the river. Feeling the grass between our toes while we cartwheel our way through ecstasy, life is much simpler than we set it up to be. We are much simpler than we mistake ourselves to be. It’s easy:

There’s nothing you can do that can’t be done.
Nothing you can sing that can’t be sung.
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game –
It’s easy.
There’s nothing you can make that can’t be made.
No one you can save that can’t be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you in time –
It’s easy.

All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.

There’s nothing you can know that isn’t known.
Nothing you can see that isn’t shown.
Nowhere you can be that isn’t where you’re meant to be –
It’s easy.
All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
All you need is love (all together now)
All you need is love (everybody)
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
