Turtle Tree

4 08 2010

Turtle Tree is the seed shop I now work in full time (9AM-12PM; 2:30-5PM). Today, I helped Johannes and Danny dismantle 2 fences that had held peas in place. In the afternoon, I helped Mike clean the shed.

There are three gardens here that grow many crops only for seeds. The food gets way too big to eat, and then it rots. Then people (like me) carry the crop to the seed shop, where we gather all the seeds, which are sold to anyone who wants ’em.

There are also two large vegetable gardens, and one very large herb garden, which other people care for. This first year, I’m strictly seeds, where it all starts :).

From the dead plants to the seeds, life’s a cycle.

Work is good.
